Extended Tours
June to November

Darwin Barra Fishing Tours offer extended tours from 2 to 14 days, tailored to meet your personal requirements.

FRESHWATER

Barra Fishing tours to Kakadu Billabongs (4 Mile Hole), Daly River, Corroboree Billabong, Hardy's Lagoon and up stream Shady Camp. Fish for Barramundi, Saratoga and Tarpon. These tours are very relaxing and the billabongs in the dry season are a magnet for wildlife including dingoes, buffalos, flying fox colonies and the estuarine crocodile. Bird life is prolific at this time of year including Eagles, Kites, Herons, Magpie Geese, Jabiru's, Pelican's, Kingfishers and the Burdikin Duck.  The fishing is what you came for the rest is an unforgettable bonus.  Barra are trolled for or cast to amongst the lilies where the ancient looking and aggressive Saratoga lurks under the lily pads for any unfortunate fish, frog or insect to land in its territory (or any lure)  Lob a lure in a Saratogas patch and you will never forget the response.

SALTWATER OPTIONS

Sport fish and Barra tours can go to Bynoe Harbour, Darwin Harbour and the Vernin Island's. Fish for Barramundi, Threadfin and Blue Salmon, Mangrove Jack, Golden Snapper Queen fish, Trevally, Mackerel, Estuary Cod and many more. Each fish has its own fantastic characteristics and you’ll find there is far more to love up here than the just the legendary silver sided salt water Barra.

Queenfish put on spectacular jumps and powerful runs. Trevally never give up a fight until boated and often fight each other to eat your lure. Estuary cod that can grow to huge sizes engulf lures and make a bee line for structure leaving the angler with the fight of a lifetime to turn them. Threadfin and blue salmon are explosive fighters with long powerful runs. Pelagic’s like Mackerel patrol the sea looking for fish to cut to pieces, if they sight your lure or bait you are in for a run you will never forget. Black Jewfish, anyone who has ever spent long cold nights chasing elusive southern Mulloway will never forget their first meeting with their northern cousins.  They bite more readily, run harder and taste far better and they even eat lures! Golden Snapper are hard to beat on either a rod or a plate are equally happy to eat your bait or your lure.
