RUN OFF
Between March to June the vast floodplains of the Northern Territory
feed the last of the wet seasons rain into creeks and rivers. At these
places and rock bars the mighty Barramundi gather in great numbers to
feed on fish leaving the wetlands. Fish from juveniles to big females
over 40 pounds can be caught in narrow waterways with breathtaking backdrops
like the Arnhem Land escarpment or the floodplains of the South Alligator
river. Wildlife like estuarine crocodiles, Jabiru's, fish eagles, egrets,
magpie geese, kites also congregate in the wetlands as you chase your
fish of a lifetime. You will be in the centre of the action as the wild
north shifts into high gear for the annual feeding frenzy that heralds
the long dry season. You will see places and wildlife interactions that road based visitors never experience.
Whether
you choose to fish the spectacular channels, mangroves, rock bars and
drains of the South and East Alligator Rivers in Kakadu National Park,
the vast floodplains of the Mary River and Shady Camp or the renowned
and beautiful Daly River our team will arrange the best in accommodation,
food, comfort, safety and of course fish.
